The monument is made of Carrara marble and was unveiled on June 11, 1905 in the Athenaeum Garden, and in 1939 it was moved to Ci\u0219migiu Park. On the left side of the high plinth is represented a girl in a simple dress, offering a bouquet of flowers to the poet. Below is a lyre over a bunch of laurels, on which is spread a scarf with the titles of his works.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Other works of the sculptor Filip Marin in Bucharest: Luigi Cazzavillan fountain located in the middle of the park with the same name, built in 1905, Sleeping Nymph, currently exhibited in Her\u0103str\u0103u Park, Bust of General Theodor \u0218erb\u0103nescu, located in Ci\u0219migiu Park.<\/p>\n<\/div><figure class=\"wp-block-media-text__media\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"220\" height=\"430\" src=\"https:\/\/www.artelierforeducation.ro\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/06\/220px-Traian_Demetrescu.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-1219 size-full\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.artelierforeducation.ro\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/06\/220px-Traian_Demetrescu.jpg 220w, https:\/\/www.artelierforeducation.ro\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/06\/220px-Traian_Demetrescu-153x300.jpg 153w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 220px) 100vw, 220px\" \/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Who was Traian Demetrescu?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-media-text is-stacked-on-mobile\" style=\"grid-template-columns:35% auto\"><figure class=\"wp-block-media-text__media\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"747\" height=\"1024\" src=\"https:\/\/www.artelierforeducation.ro\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/09\/tradem-747x1024.jpeg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-1614 size-full\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.artelierforeducation.ro\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/09\/tradem-747x1024.jpeg 747w, https:\/\/www.artelierforeducation.ro\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/09\/tradem-219x300.jpeg 219w, https:\/\/www.artelierforeducation.ro\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/09\/tradem-768x1053.jpeg 768w, https:\/\/www.artelierforeducation.ro\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/09\/tradem.jpeg 800w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 747px) 100vw, 747px\" \/><\/figure><div class=\"wp-block-media-text__content\">\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Traian Rafael Radu Demetrescu, with the literary pseudonym Tradem, was a pre-symbolist poet, popular for his widely read poems and novels at the end of the last century.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">He wrote poems since he was a student, debuting in 1883 in the magazine &#8220;Literatorul&#8221;, edited by Alexandru Macedonski. He read poems at Titu Maiorescu&#8217;s cenacle and published in the magazine &#8220;Convorbiri literare&#8221;.
